The standard session

Sixty minutes with one person

For anyone who wants an unhurried hour that is only about their head and neck. Come with a request or with none.

The hour is the same every time: the same order, the same room, the same person. What changes is the pressure, the water and how long you spend on each part, and all three are yours to set.

Before you come

  • Nothing to bring

  • No need to wash your hair first

  • A robe if you would like one

  • Slippers off at the door

Rolled white towels stacked beside a patterned vase and a basin on a dark wooden counter

In order

What happens, step by step

Minutes are for a standard hour. The long hour spends its extra fifteen on the massage.

  1. 01
    10 min

Step 1: Slippers off, scalp check

Leave your slippers at the door and take a robe if you'd like one. Cliff looks at your scalp and hair in daylight and asks what you want from the hour: more pressure, less, or a quiet one. Tell him anything he should avoid.

  2. 02
    10 min

    Step 2: Warm cleanse

A warm rinse at the basin, then an unscented cleanse worked in slowly. If the water is too warm or not warm enough, say so; he changes it at once.

  3. 03
    25 min

    Step 3: Brush and massage

The longest part of the hour. A soft brush through the hair, then slow massage across the scalp, behind the ears and along the nape, with fingertips only. He checks the pressure halfway, and you can ask him to stop at any time.

  4. 04
    5 min

    Step 4: Last rinse

Another warm rinse until the water runs clear. A towel goes over your shoulders.

  5. 05
    10 min

    Step 5: Towel and dry

A warm towel around your hair, then a gentle dry and a comb-out. The room is not booked for ten minutes after you, so nobody rushes you out.

Questions about the hour

Can I choose the pressure?

Yes. Cliff asks before he starts and checks again halfway. Say lighter, firmer or stop, as often as you like.

What if I'd rather not be touched on my neck?

Then he won't. The neck and shoulders add-on is optional, and the scalp massage can stay on the scalp.

What sets the price of the hour?

The length of the session and any add-ons. The booking page shows the price, and How pricing works explains the rest.
