Questions
Questions about Nape
Do I wash my hair first?
No. Come as you are, and take out clips and heavy earrings. The cleanse is part of the session.
Will my hair be wet when I leave?
It will be towel-dried and combed out, and may still be a little damp. Tell us when you book if you have somewhere to be, and add the dry and brush-out.
Is it a massage?
The hour includes a scalp massage, and the neck and shoulders add-on is done over your clothes. It is not a full-body massage.
Can I fall asleep?
Many people do. Cliff will bring you back gently at the end.
Can a friend and I come together?
There is one room and one therapist, so a session is for one person at a time. Two friends can book back to back.
How much does a session cost?
The price depends on the length of the session and any add-ons, and the booking page shows it. How pricing works explains what sets it.
Does it work with every hair type?
Yes: straight, wavy, curly or coily, thick or fine, colored or natural. Tell Cliff what is on your hair and how you usually care for it, and he adjusts the brushing and the drying.
Can I wear my hair up when I arrive?
Yes. Take out clips, combs and elastics at the basin; there is a tray for them.
What if my scalp is sore or irritated?
Please ask your doctor first and tell us when you book. Cliff can reschedule you, and he will say so if he sees something he is not trained to assess.
Is there parking?
There is street parking on Keawe Street and a small lot behind the building.
Can I bring my child?
Sessions are for clients 16 and over. Clients under 18 come with a parent or guardian.
What if I need to cancel or run late?
Please give 24 hours' notice to cancel or move a session. If you are running late, call us and we will see what the day allows.
