Our policies
What to expect before you book, written plainly.
Booking and deposits
Book on the booking page or by phone. Nape takes no deposit; we confirm your time by text the day before. Sessions are by appointment only, because there is one room and one therapist.
Canceling and running late
Please give 24 hours' notice to move or cancel. If you are running late, call us: we shorten the session to keep the next client's time, or move it if the day allows.
If you miss an appointment
If you miss an appointment without notice, we will call you before we hold another session for you, because each hour is set aside for one person.
Children and companions
Sessions are for clients 16 and over. Clients under 18 come with a parent or guardian. There is one small room, so a companion waits in the front entry.
Patch tests and allergies
The cleanse is unscented and needs no patch test. Tell us when you book about allergies to scents, oils or hair products, and we will use plain warm water.
If you're not happy
Tell us within a few days and we will make it right: a longer dry, a different pressure next time, or a short follow-up visit.
Tipping
Tipping is welcome and never expected. You can leave one at the end of your session.
Pressure, consent and stopping
Cliff asks about pressure and any area to avoid before he starts, checks again halfway, and stops whenever you ask. Nothing is done to your neck or shoulders without asking first.
Before your visit
Arrive ten minutes early for a first visit. Wear something easy to change out of, or ask for a robe. Come with your hair as it is; there is no need to wash it first. Slippers stay at the door.
When to ask your doctor first
Ask your doctor before you book if you have an open cut, sore, rash or swelling on your scalp, a scalp condition under a doctor's care, recent surgery on your head, neck or back, neck or spine problems, or if you are pregnant. Tell us when you book. If Cliff sees something he is not trained to assess, he will say so and suggest you see a doctor.
